Goddard State Park offers a variety of classes and events for the general public. The photos posted here are from a recent kayak training class. Upcoming events include the following. (Descriptions in quotes are from the DCNR web site.)
September 2, 2011--6:00 PM to 8:00 PM: Happy Hour Paddle
"Join us for a leisurely paddle on Lake Wilhelm as we watch the sun set and nightfall surround the lake. Insect repellant is recommended. Bring your own or make arrangements to borrow one of the park’s kayaks. A limited number are available. Call 724-253-4833 for details."
September 3, 2011--10 AM to 11:30 AM: Amazing Journey
"During the fall many species leave their summer breeding home. Join the sweeping spectacle of migrating birds, butterflies and zebras in the movie Amazing Journeys. Meet at the Environmental Learning Classroom at the Marina."
September 4, 2011--1:00 PM to 3:00 PM: Campfire Cooking
"The magic of preparing a meal over fire, whether you are camping or not, doesn’t need to be challenging. Join us at the Marina Pavilion."
September 24, 2011--9:00 AM: National Public Lands Day Invasive Species Removal
Meet at the Falling Run Trailhead to remove invasive species such as garlic mustard. Call 724-253-4833 for more information.
